Oxygen & Acetylene Gauges
£POA
When monitoring highly volatile gases like oxygen and acetylene, standard instrumentation poses a critical risk. Our specialised range is engineered to eliminate the specific chemical and mechanical hazards associated with these gases, prioritising operator safety and system integrity.
Critical Oxygen Gauge Standards
Pressurised oxygen reacts violently when exposed to even trace amounts of oil, grease, or hydrocarbons, presenting a severe explosion risk.
- Contamination-Free Build: Our oxygen gauges are manufactured, tested, and sealed under strict laboratory conditions to guarantee zero oil contamination.
- Mandatory Safety Markings: Every unit features “Safety Pattern Type” construction and is clearly printed with “Oxygen” alongside the international “Use No Oil” warning symbol on the dial face.
Critical Acetylene Gauge Standards
Acetylene gas forms highly explosive acetylide compounds if it comes into contact with silver or alloys containing a high percentage of copper.
- Explosion-Proof Metallurgy: To eliminate this chemical risk, all internal wetted parts in contact with the acetylene gas are manufactured using either steel or a specialised alloy restricted to a maximum of 65% copper content.
- Clear Identification: These units are exclusively “Safety Pattern Type” construction and are explicitly labeled “Acetylene” on the dial.
Safety Pattern Construction
Both oxygen and acetylene gauges are built with full safety patterns. This includes a solid front baffle wall between the dial face and the pressure element, alongside a full blow-out back. In the rare event of a leak or internal failure, the pressure is safely vented out the rear of the gauge, protecting the operator facing the control panel.
